Tarra is a leadership/career coach, workshop leader, teleclass facilitator, and organizational consultant who lives in the San Francisco Bay Area and works internationally with women called to make a big contribution in the world.
Tarra is called to support women who are part of the collective awakening happening in throughout the world. She coaches and leads workshops for change-makers, visionaries, social artists, visionary entrepreneurs, and women called to make a positive impact on the world. She is particularly skillful at helping creative women with many talents synthesize them into work that is meaningful and makes a contribution in the world.
Tarra graduated magna cum laude with a BA in Psychology and a minor in theater from Binghamton University in New York. She has a masters in psychology from the Wright Institute in Berkeley, CA, a program which emphasizes the social change tradition in psychology. Tarra also is pursuing a doctorate in psychology and working on doctoral dissertation. She completed her training in Co-Active Coaching at the internationally respected Coaches Training Institute in San Rafael, CA. She has completed additional personal and professional development training with Landmark Education, Matrix Leadership Institute, and Interaction Associates.
She is influenced by her studies with some of the most respected leaders of our times, including Thich Nhat Hanh, Jean Houston, Thomas Moore, Desmond Tutu, Lynne Twist, Van Jones, Angeles Arrien, and Julia Butterfly Hill. She is also influenced by her studies in depth psychology, Ecopsychology, theater, and social justice.
Tarra is a sought-after speaker and workshop leader for institutions and organizations such as Omega Institute, Young Women Social Entrepreneurs, California Institute of Integral Studies, John F. Tarra is passionate the power of inspirational change-makers to create a better world. She interviewed over 30 activists for an article called “Generation Awakening” and was recently featured in the book, 100 Words: 200 Visionaries Share Their Hope for the Future. This inspiring book included luminaries such as Angeles Arrien, Julia Butterfly Hill, Jean Houston, Nina Simons, and Alice Walker.
Professionally, Tarra is engaged with many of many global change organizations including the Institute of Noetic Sciences, The Bali Institute for Global Renewal, The Esalen Institute, The Coaches Care Project, and Young Women Social Entrepreneurs.
